I provide services as a consultant, on a day rate. Because I offer my GC services on a long term basis you get a day rate which is equivalent to less than 2 hours at my law firm rate (£600 p/hr) but there is no clock-watching and no 6-minute time recording.
Just total commitment.
My years of experience mean I can accomplish a huge amount extremely fast, so 1 day of my time is worth 2 days of most lawyers' time. Consequently, I recommend you engage me for roughly half the number of days you think you need me. If the workload increases, we can always increase my days to suit your needs over time.
Since I am not your employee, this means you don't have to pay taxes, social security/NI, holiday, or sick leave, provide pension or other benefits and I am not eating into your option pool, so your budget goes further!
I work remotely, because I find this most efficient on a regular basis, but I am very happy to travel anywhere nationally or internationally on an ad hoc basis, as needed for meetings. Travel time and reasonable travel costs will be chargeable.
I bill on a monthly basis in advance, this secures my time and ensures I can turn down any other offers with confidence, so I am there for you when you need me.
As and when you no longer need my support, or you are ready to hire a full time GC, I can help you to interview, test and hire any full time replacement you may need. Once my time is up, there is no complex termination process or awkward conversation. Just give me notice, and we both move on - easy!
